Home Energy Audits
Before any renovation or replacement of a furnace/water heater, we recommend beginning with a Home Energy Audit. This will provide a rating of your home, letting you know where you stand in terms of energy efficiency, what improvements could be made and what rebates are offered by the government. It’s an opportunity to get to know your home and reduce the cost of the reno. Do the windows need to be changed or will caulking take care of drafty areas? How air tight should your home be while ensuring fresh air is accessible? All this will be addressed during an audit.
When clients ask about home energy audits, we book through the Windfall Ecology Center. After researching many audit companies, we found Windfall to be pioneers, experienced and very eco-minded. We also appreciate their commitment to remaining neutral as they will not make recommendations for contractors, installers etc. This speaks to their high level of integrity. The auditors are knowledgeable, efficient, and respectful of your home.

Cradle-To-Cradle Green Companies
My favorite eco paint on the market, as a product and a company. An inspiration as to how to run a different kind of company with a solid green mission:
